Trade Shows in Logistics: Healthcare Supply Chain Management

Attending the best trade shows in your industry can make a big difference in how you conduct your business and how well your company performs in the industry; with both consumers and amongst the competition.

There is so much you can learn when you and your team attend a good targeted trade show or conference.

There are some really great health care supply chain management events out there and here are three health care industry shows I try to attend each year.

1. The Health and Personal Care Logistics Conference

The Health and Personal Care Logistics Conference is one of the oldest in the nation, having been created over 80 years ago. It is a respected source of education in logistics for the health and personal care industries.

The conference is put on twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, every year. It keeps attendees up to date on the current trends in logistics in the health care industry through case studies and updates on new technologies.

The conferences are held in different locations around the country each year. To find where the next one is being held, go to the conference's website.

2. LogiPharma

LogiPharma is held every fall in Princeton, New Jersey. This 13 year old trade show is a great opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds in the Life Science supply chain space. It is a 3 day conference with multiple tracks and over 50 speakers. It has a relatively intimate feel as there are usually less than 200 attendees.

3. LogiMed

logimed

LogiMed is a focused conference for supply chain VPs and Directors from medical device and diagnostics manufacturers. It is a great opportunity to identify best practices through case study examples, small group discussions, and structured networking activities. This is also a relatively small conference (100-200), but there are good size manufacturers attending every year. This is a spring conference; for 2016 the location is New Orleans, LA.

In addition to the above 3 shows, I am putting the next 2 on my list for future attendance. They appear to be very educational (including offering CEUs) and great networking opportunities.

Bonus #1 Healthcare Supply Chain Expo

This 2.5 day expo gives attendees an opportunity to have one-on-one networking time with potential buyers, panel discussions on trending supply chain topics, and great keynote speakers. The Healthcare Supply Chain Expo is held in Washington, DC in the fall.

Bonus #2 Healthcare Supply Chain Summit - GHX

GHX

GHX is a spring conference, in 2016 it will be held in Austin, TX. The Healthcare Supply Chain Summit is an intensive 2-1/2 day event providing a wealth of information. Industry leaders and experts share current and future industry trends, best practices, and real life case studies showcasing successful strategies for operational excellence. An additional plus for this conference is you have the opportunity to earn CEUs from the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM).

Whatever Healthcare supply chain management trade show you attend in the coming year, I hope you find this list informative and motivational. Trade shows are a great way to network and inspire us to stay innovative and to be informed.
